EMOTIONAL EATING (PART II)

Okay!! If you are really hungry, then healthy snacks of carrot sticks or a bowl of curds or a fruit can satisfy you. Concern is when you are eating under the influence of a particular emotion. Relationship conflicts, Work stress, Fatigue, Financial pressures, Health problems etc. leads to develop negative emotions.

In general,it is found that following negative emotions lead to emotional eating.
• Stress
• Anger
• Loneliness
• Fear
• Boredom
• Sadness

Emotional eaters try to suppress the negative emotion by eating a food which gives them comfort or distract them from the emotion which they do not want to deal with. Commonly,high calorie foods, sweets, fatty foods are consumed under the influence of negative emotion. If it continues for long time, it leads to weight gain.

Some people tend to eat less when they are experiencing a negative emotion.
