Your brain needs ample of energy and alertness for long duration –late night studies and to cope up with the examination stress. Following are the Pre-examination Nourishment tips which will help you prepare well for the exams.
#Tip1: Do not skip a meal: Even if you are nervous or stressed out never skip your meal. Eat small frequent and light meals in a day.
#Tip2: Choose right foods for the breakfast: Healthy breakfast will keep you active all the day. Choose cereal with Milk / Eggs with whole wheat bread /Poha /Daliya / Upma etc. for breakfast.
#Tip3: Protein rich foods give you the required alertness.Amino acids are precursors to the neurotransmitters(specialized brain cells) which help you to maintain mental acuity and motivation. Thus, healthy food choices like Fish, Nuts, Eggs, Low fat Milk, Curds, Cottage cheese, Pulses and Legumes, Soy and Soy products etc. will be beneficial.
#Tip4: Avoid Starchy foods & Sweets during this period as these foods may make you feel sleepy. Also, avoid junk, fried & high calorie food as it take longer time to digest.
#Tip5: Hydration: Stay hydrated by consuming plenty of plain water. 12-15 glasses of water per day is suggested. Avoid consumption of many cups of tea or coffee.
#Tip6: Eat fresh- home cooked food, Green Leafy Veggies and Fruits.
#Tip7: Never try a new food on the day of examination.
#Tip8: Exercise daily and take proper rest.
