Thalipeeth – A Maharashtrian Healthy Delicacy..!!

Aiming for healthy breakfast??

Haven’t plan but wanna light, tasty dinner??

No worries friends….Thalipeeth, a tasty & popular Maharashtrian dish is one of the best option for healthy, unplanned ‘on the go’ breakfast or dinner.
Thalipeeth, made from a flour called as ‘Bhajni’- a combination of cereals, millets, pulses & legumes. Bhajni is prepared by roasting & grinding of some cereals & pulses like wheat, bajra, jowar, rice, gram daal, mung daal, cow peas, some spices etc. which enhances a flavour, colour, texture & extends shelf life. Cereal-pulse combination is considered as good quality protein source especially for vegetarians. For e.g.100 g of bhajni will provide approximately 13 g proteins. Roasting of cereals & pulses reduces anti-nutrient factors from them, denaturates proteins thus improving their digestibility. That makes thalipeeth a good option for growing kids & senior citizens as well. Favourite accompaniments with thalipeeth includes fresh curds & homemade white butter. Add some chopped onions, bunch of coriander leaves or methi leaves to increase its yumm quotient & serve to youngsters…it will be savoured in a while.

So, what are you waiting for….just go forit..!! Be it young…be it old….liked by every household…!!
